Hello!!!!! I've missed you too.

It's so good to hear from you. We're doing great over here. Charlie is all recovered from his surgery, a cold and a wicked stomach bug. He's had it rough so far this year but with spring just around the corner, hopefully that's all behind us.

Love you much.

Leftovers are great since you don't have to cook for a few days.

I look forward to continuing this journey with you in 2009.

Hi Kim. I'm glad you had a good Christmas. I'm glad it's over and my company has left. Yesterday I did very little and it was nice.

Do your parents live close to you? Did you cook the turkey? Sounds like you did a good job.

Every year, I make a traditional meat that my mother always cooked. It's called a pernil but I'm not sure about the spelling so I'm spelling it phonetically. Anyway, it's a fresh picnic seasoned with a blend of spices and herbs a day or two before and then roasted. It's delicious and it's a once a year treat that my family loves.

I also have various side dishes such as rice and a few years ago I added macaroni and cheese for those that don't like white rice.

I wanted to make Cynthia's cheesacake but my knee's been bothering me and standing for long periods was uncomfortable so I'm going to try to make it this week as a new years treat.

Since my children have in-laws they have to see on Christmas, we do our Christmas the day after. That works out well since it gives us one more day to get ready.

I'm still off this week so I'll have a little chance to recuperate from the Christmas chaos. I can't remember if you said that you work outside the home or if you're a stay at home mom. Either way, try to get some rest. You deserve it.

Did your baby enjoy Christmas?

Freedom In Becoming A Fool?

1 Corinthians 3:18 (New International Version)

18Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.

This verse holds a very dear nugget of freedom to the intellectual, or analytical mind. For we are in a world that we were previously taught to gain wisdom by study or reasoning. But not so with Christ. For all things are hidden to the wise and learned and revealed to children.(Matt 11:25) In… Continue

The Hired Hand.........

John 10:11-13 (New International Version)

11"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

There have been countless stories of people that have been victimized by spiritual abuse. People that were excited about… Continue

Planting, Watering, And Growth

Okay, okay I know my last post was one that was based on my emotions and not the spring of life. Although, God has used this time to bring to the surface things that will be discarded, by the outworking of his life. For of course the old ways of thinking are now no longer relevant to the new..... But even though we know WHO we are( the new creation) our understanding of what it really means is worked out over the course of our lives.

It's truly amazing how gardening is such a perfect illustrati… Continue

Just The Two Of Us?

With all the holidays quickly approaching, I've been pondering how much things have changed in my life in the past couple of years. Particularly, in regard to the evolution of personal relationships in the body of Christ.

I'm finding that more and more often it's harder to relate to Christians in the IC. Which in some ways is dissappointing, but in others just the reality of differences in thinking. Even though I can't seem to bypass these differences, I still hunger for fellowship with people… Continue

Who's Really In Control?

With the buzz of the 2008 elections dying down, many people are taking in the results with a mixture of emotions. Some are overjoyed and hopeful, while others are upset, confused and even angry. Politics always seems to stir up the pot, causing some passionate and not always pretty side effects.

So how does this effect the children of God? Well you may get a ton of different answers depending on who you ask. But the real question should be WHO is in control of these matters. The truth is that G… Continue
